IMG_8341Alessandra Rosa is a sociocultural anthropologist, professor, researcher, activist, public speaker, and consultant. Currently, she is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Sociology at University of South Florida (USF). Prior to coming to USF, she was an Assistant Professor at Lynn University and a Visiting Instructor at Florida International University. Her areas of expertise include social movements, education, media, spaces of resistance, and discourses with a focus on student activism and Internet activism. Her work has been published in academic journals including the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, Sargasso, Teoría y Praxis Investigativa, as well as electronic journals, including Mobilizing Ideas. Recently, she published a chapter in the book Practices of Resistance: Narratives, Politics, and Aesthetics across the Caribbean.
